to be moved to love to hope to tremble to live
Did you know that babies are born with a preference for sweet taste?
It is inherently human to enjoy the taste of sugar in all its forms.
We believe that there is nothing wrong with having a sweet tooth and indulging in your favorite treats every once in a while.
The trouble starts when your cravings get out of control,
affecting your physical and mental health.
The first step you need to take is to understand that it is
NOT your fault that you crave sugary treats on the reg.
Check out the link below to find out why.
Q: Everyone knows that excess sugar is bad for health,
so why is it so hard to stop consuming it?
A: The solutions given to us in the past were often temporary,
not suitable for everyone, or require unrealistic perseverance.
They ultimately don't ensure a lifestyle change.
INTERMEZZO believes that a lifestyle change starts at home.
Your sweet tooth likely developed from store-bought sources (major food companies, restaurants, bakeries, groceries...) that use massive amounts of sugar in their products.
So gaining real freedom from your sweet tooth will begin in the kitchen.
The simple truth is that in order to be free from your sugar cravings,
you need to change your taste buds (i.e your palate)

During a fancy schmancy meal, a palate cleanser is sometimes served between courses. It's a neutral-flavored food or drink that allows the tongue to more accurately taste new flavors.
We have applied the concept of a palate cleanser to our daily eating habits, and created Intermezzo (which is another word for palate cleanser, and also Italian for "interval") This program is just a 5 week interval from your regular eating habits.
It is possible to transform taste buds that crave ultra processed food to crave the taste of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other whole foods.

How does Intermezzo work?

Not a diet.
Not a juice cleanse.
No calorie counting.
A choice.
A lifestyle change.

For decades, major food companies have been adding unnecessary amounts of sugar and chemicals to their products (both sweet and savory), forcing us to believe that our favorite foods should taste much sweeter than they naturally are. These additives also make us dependent on the product, so we get cravings for them, and keep purchasing them.
In order to have greater control over our eating habits, we believe we should focus on two simple behaviors.
1. To embrace fruits and vegetables in their natural forms.
2. To prepare desserts and snacks at home whenever we crave them.
With our busy schedules, these behaviors can be hard to adapt and stick to.
INTERMEZZO will give you the blueprint to make them as simple as they should be.

"I come from a family of health and fitness enthusiasts, but dessert has always been my weakness. I craved something sweet and decadent every single day, in abundance, and the cravings were often linked to my emotions.
This was not good for my mental or physical well-being. I tried various forms of dieting, restricting, and calorie/nutrient counting. None of it seemed to work. I always went back to my old habits.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I challenged myself to not eat any kind of store-bought foods, and to make everything at home instead. I planned ahead and incorporated at least 10 minutes of dessert and snack prep into to my daily schedule.
I learned more about each ingredient that went into the treats I consumed on a daily basis, and now I have greater control on what goes into my body.
I have partnered with wellness company Core Quest Fitness, which is Precision Nutrition certified, to create nutrition guidelines and recipes that will reduce your sweet cravings for the next 5 weeks, and hopefully for good.
Join me on Monday, Jan 10th, and let's kick the habit of consuming excess sugar together.
Say goodbye to excess sugar cravings,
